About Cheetah

Hi, I'm Jarvin.
I built Cheetah.

I've spent my career between finance and software, and I kept running into the same gap. Systems of record like Xero holds every number a finance team needs, but built-in reports don't lay them out the way the team actually reports.

So the real reporting happened in spreadsheets, rebuilt by hand every month.

I built Cheetah to close that gap.

Jarvin Ong, founder of Cheetah

The Gap I Kept Hitting

Xero is brilliant at keeping the books. Reporting the way your team needs is a different job.

What Xero's built-in reports give you

  • Layouts built to suit generic businesses
  • Your data as Xero organises it
  • A solid starting point, then an export to Excel

What finance teams actually need

  • The pack in their own layout, groupings and order
  • Every entity combined, with their own eliminations and FX rules
  • Profit by project, outlet, client or product line
  • Schedules that tie back to the ledger
  • The same report next month, without rebuilding it

Every team I worked with bridged that gap the same way: export, paste, VLOOKUP, reconcile, then fix whatever broke since last month. Add-ons get closer with templates, but a template is someone else's idea of your report.

I didn't want to build another template. I wanted the report each team had already designed, with their layout, their logic and their eliminations, generated straight from Xero in one click, with formulas they can check. That's how Cheetah works: I learn how you report, build it once, and every report after that is one click.

The longer version: Why I'm chasing an idea that doesn't scale

Engineer by Education, Finance by Function

More than seven years on both sides of the report Building the models, then the software.

  1. Pre-career   •   Engineering

    Writing code since 2009

Competitive programming taught me algorithms, and hackathons taught me to ship under pressure (won a few 😉). Internships introduced me to the world of finance and building for it, where I built prototypes for a bank and a VC. Graduated magna cum laude in Systems Engineering.

  2. 2019 – 2022   •   Corporate Development

Due diligence, valuations and financial models

At a large infrastructure investor, I ran financial and technical due diligence on software and deep-tech investments: market sizing, valuations, and the models senior management made decisions on.

  3. 2021 – 2023   •   Finance Operations

One source of truth for a hospitality group

I single-handedly built the dashboards powering the strategic decisions behind a multi-brand F&B and hospitality group, with pipelines pulling data from separate systems into one place, and systems tied into its operations and financial reconciliation.

  4. 2022 – 2025   •   Strategic Finance Software

    Founding Head of Product

As the first employee at a strategic finance software startup, I built the product, engineering and design team, and the MVP behind its $4M seed round. Most of my days went to finance teams, accounting firms and fractional CFOs, working closely with them to build what they needed to see in their P&L, cash flow, receivables and spend.

  5. 2026   •   Institutional Investment

    Valuation systems for private investments

Brought in on contract to lead a build for a major institutional investor: automating the mark-to-market valuation of its private investments, with portfolio monitoring that fits its internal processes, existing infrastructure and enterprise security guardrails.

  6. 2025 – now   •   Cheetah

Building the solution I wished existed

Cheetah now runs reporting for 100+ Xero organisations across professional services, F&B, real estate and pharmaceuticals, for in-house finance teams and accounting firms alike.

You'll Work With Me

No account managers, no hand-offs. You'll work directly with the person who built Cheetah.

The builder, not a ticket queue

The person who scopes your report is the person who builds it. When something needs to change, you message me directly.

Fluent in finance

Eliminations, FX translation and variance analysis need no explaining, so we spend our time on your business logic.

My name is on every report

Figuratively, of course! Cheetah is my company and my reputation. If a number doesn't tie, I want to know, and I'll fix it.

Straight answers

If a Xero add-on already does what you need, I'll tell you. Cheetah is for the reports nothing else fits.

Don't Take My Word for It

What the finance teams and firms I work with say.

“Cheetah has become our quiet competitive edge. Reports that used to eat up half our month-end now land in minutes. The team now spends their hours on advisory work instead of cleaning up spreadsheets.”

Brandon Soh
Brandon SohFounder and CEO, Book&Entries

“Consolidated reporting used to take hours of manual prep. With Cheetah, it's one click — structured exactly how each client wants it. We've gone from preparing reports to actually advising on them.”

Vidhi Killa
Vidhi KillaAccounting Manager, CAP Advisory

“We never thought our complicated business logic could be built into a systemised report until Cheetah delivered it. Whenever we need changes made, we get the responsiveness of a dedicated analyst.”

Biiyole Law
Biiyole LawAssistant Finance Manager, EMA Global

Cheetah is deliberately small and nimble, so I can stay close to every report and make sure they all work perfectly. My favourite part is still the moment a report someone has rebuilt by hand for years finally runs in one click.

I'd love for yours to be the next one.

Jarvin

Tell Me How You Report

Cheetah was built to handle the most complex edge cases. If every other generic software solution has failed you, you've come to the right place.
